This opportunity for an innovative and forward-thinking educational leader to make a significant contribution to a growing school and to help shape the future direction of inclusion at Scenic Shores State School.

This permanent position will commence in Term 1, 2027.

About The Role

The successful applicant will be an accomplished educational leader who is passionate about inclusion and committed to ensuring that students with disability receive high-quality teaching, learning and support.





The role will centre on improving educational outcomes for students supported through the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD) and leading the development of high-quality, inclusive teaching and learning practices across the school.

An excellent demonstrated working knowledge of NCCD processes and requirements will be highly regarded, as will a deep knowledge and understanding of supporting students with disability, including students with physical disability, neurodivergence and hearing impairment.

The Successful Applicant Will Be Committed To

- Leading and developing high-quality teaching and learning programs across the Inclusion Team;
- Providing instructional leadership and support to teachers and teacher aides;
- Building the capability of staff to effectively support students with disability;
- Using data and evidence to identify and respond to student learning needs;
- Ensuring NCCD processes are rigorous, accurate and embedded within school practice;
- Developing inclusive practices that enable all students to access and participate meaningfully in learning;
- Fostering positive and respectful relationships between students, staff, families, community and external stakeholders; and
- Contributing as an active and collaborative member of the school leadership team.

- Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) We have a strong whole-school commitment to PBL and were nominated as a PBL Demonstration School in 2026.
- Reading and Structured Synthetic Phonics Our Explicit Improvement Agenda has a strong focus on improving student outcomes in reading, with structured synthetic phonics underpinning the development of early reading skills.
- STEM Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics is a signature program at Scenic Shores State School, developing students' curiosity, creativity, problem-solving skills and understanding of the world around them.
- Auslan Australian Sign Language is our Language Other Than English (LOTE). All students from Prep to Year 6 participate in Auslan throughout the week, supporting communication, inclusion and an appreciation of diversity.
- Explicit Instruction Explicit Instruction is at the forefront of our teaching practice. Our approach is informed by evidence-based research and incorporates strategies from Teach Like a Champion, Lyn Sharratt and Anita Archer.
