Job Description

As the Retail Manager at Friends Grocer, you will oversee day-to-day store operations, lead staff, maintain high customer service standards and support the overall performance of the business. You will ensure the store is efficiently managed and provides a high standard of customer service while driving sales performance and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

- Oversee the day-to-day operations of Friends Grocer, ensuring the store is efficiently managed and provides a high standard of customer service
n
- Determine appropriate product ranges, product mix, stock levels and service standards based on customer needs and store requirements
n
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies to maintain adequate stock levels, minimise wastage and ensure products are available to customers
n
- Formulate and implement pricing, purchasing and promotional strategies in line with business objectives and market conditions
n
- Coordinate and implement marketing, promotional and advertising activities to promote the store's products, services and special offers
n
- Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities to improve revenue, customer satisfaction and overall store performance
n
- Maintain accurate records of stock levels, sales, purchases, expenses and financial transactions
n
- Monitor inventory and coordinate stock ordering, receiving, storage and replenishment to ensure efficient stock management
n
- Prepare and manage store budgets, monitor expenditure and assist with achieving financial and operational targets
n
- Recruit, select, train,



supervise and support retail staff to ensure employees understand their responsibilities and maintain expected service standards

About you

n

- Bachelor's degree in Business Management or a related field
n
- Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience in retail management, grocery retail, store management or a related field
n
- Demonstrated experience managing day-to-day retail store operations, preferably within a grocery or supermarket environment
n
- Strong knowledge of stock management, purchasing, inventory control and merchandising
n
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to recruit, train, supervise and motivate staff
n
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to handle customer enquiries and resolve issues professionally
n
- Strong financial and business management skills, including budgeting, cost control and monitoring sales performance
n
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
n
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to review sales, stock and financial information
n
- Knowledge of WHS/OHS requirements and the ability to maintain a protected workplace for staff and customers
