Family & Playroom Facilitator - Hastings (Baabak)

Formed in 1917, The Queen Elizabeth Centre (QEC) is Victoria’s largest provider of Residential, Community and Home-based early parenting services for families with children from birth to four years of age. With our Residential Early Parenting Centre's in Noble Park and Hastings and Community home-based services across Victoria, we play a special role in providing parenting education and support to thousands of families every year to give their children the best start in life.

About the role

Join a collaborative, multidisciplinary team at QEC to deliver specialised early parenting support and play experiences for children from birth to under four years. Guided by our Model of Care, you will create a safe, therapeutic workplace that builds parenting capacity and supports children's development.

Key Responsibilities

- Facilitate purposeful play to promote children's social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and communication growth.
- Coach and support parents through modeling, education, and play-based interactions to help them understand child cues and developmental needs.




- Collaborate with families and staff to identify, respond to, and meet individual family goals.
- Provide inclusive care that builds on unique family strengths and ensures a culturally safe, welcoming experience.

About you

Relevant tertiary qualification in Early Childhood Education, Nursing, Children’s Services Family Support, Community Services or a related discipline with demonstrated experience working with young children and families.

Demonstrated understanding of child development and the importance of play in supporting children's development, wellbeing, learning and connection with their parents and caregivers

Experience supporting families in the early parenting period through education, modelling, coaching and practical guidance

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and in partnership with families.

Health Care Worker Immunisations

Excellent communication, organisational skills and ability to be self-directed
