Our client is a large Australian organisation responsible for delivering critical services and outcomes that support long-term national priorities. Working across complex technology landscapes, the organisation is undertaking significant digital and business transformation initiatives that require strong architectural leadership and governance.

The Role

As the Principal Enterprise Architect, you will provide enterprise-wide oversight of technology strategy, architecture governance, and solution design. You will play a key role in ensuring technology investments align with business objectives, architectural standards, security requirements, and long-term organisational goals.

You will work closely with senior stakeholders, technology leaders, and governance bodies to guide strategic decision-making, reduce technology risk, and enable sustainable innovation.

Responsibilities

- Provide enterprise-wide architecture leadership across ICT systems and programs
- Define, maintain, and promote enterprise architecture principles, standards, and roadmaps
- Ensure alignment between business strategy and technology investments
- Lead and support architecture governance through review boards and design authorities
- Identify and reduce technical debt, duplication, and architectural risk
- Provide strategic guidance on secure, scalable, and standards-aligned technology solutions
- Support cloud, hybrid-cloud, and enterprise integration initiatives




- Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to drive innovation and continuous improvement
- Influence strategic technology direction and support informed ICT investment decisions

Requirements

- Demonstrated experience delivering secure and standards-aligned enterprise architecture outcomes
- Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture governance frameworks and review processes
- Experience operating within complex enterprise or government environments
- Proven ability to identify and mitigate architectural risks, duplication, and technical debt
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing skills
- Experience developing architecture roadmaps and aligning technology strategies with business objectives
- Understanding of cloud, hybrid infrastructure, and enterprise integration patterns
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage executive stakeholders

Security Clearance

- Baseline Security Clearance required.
