Key Duties

- Coordinate and plan advocacy, awareness, and social/political events in collaboration with working groups and regional teams.
- Manage event logistics: venue (physical or online), scheduling, invitations, and resources.
- Lead on creative ideas, fundraising, and outreach to increase event impact.
- Attend regular team meetings to strategise and review progress.
- Support and mentor new volunteers as your team grows.

Skills &

Experience Needed

- No professional experience required; training and support provided.
- Strong organisational skills, creativity, and initiative.
- Excellent communication, written and verbal.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative group.
- Passion for animal advocacy and creating positive change.
- If you have previous experience in event planning, project management, or advocacy, that’s a plus, but not mandatory.
- Openness to learning new skills and approaches

Organisational Background

- The team is part of a political organisation dedicated to animal justice, promoting compassionate policies and building awareness of animal exploitation.
- Events range from grassroots advocacy to high-impact campaigns, sometimes partnering with other advocacy groups and legislative initiatives.

Time Required

On average, expect to dedicate 1–5 hours per week, depending on upcoming events and planning needs. This includes coordination, communications, and meetings.

During bigger events (for example, the Justice For Arnie event in November), the hours may increase in the week leading up to and during the event itself.

This is all mostly online, and if you can attend the event in-person on the day that's great but otherwise we have a team who can help.

Training

Induction to AJP systems and support will be provided. Expect 2 hours for initial training, which can be scheduled at your convenience.
