Executive Officer
Location: Sydney CBD, up to five days per week in the office
Employment Type: 6 month, full-time, temporary position available with an immediate start
Clerk Grade: 11/12
Salary Range: $154,231 - $178,369 per annum plus super + annual leave loading (commensurate with experience)
Executive Officer role in the Office of the Secretary The Department of Customer Service (DCS) is a service provider, regulator and provider of all-of-Government services. Essential requirements
- Current 11/12 looking for an at-level development opportunity
- Experienced policy professional with and good understanding of Cabinet, Parliamentary processes and ministerial offices.
- Proven ability to critical analyse and review policies, briefings and media.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including, excellent influencing and negotiation skills with the confidence to engage effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders, including responding appropriately to contentious and emerging issues to achieve outcomes.
- Experience with government protocols and procedures.
- High level organisational skills with proven ability to deal with multiple tasks and follow through on goals.
About the role The Secretary is looking for an experienced 11/12 Executive Officer to join the team to provide a wide range of high-level support, while at the same time,
helping shape the new structure of the office for the future. If you are passionate about making a positive and lasting impact applying your policy expertise and won’t shy away from holding key stakeholders accountable, then this is the role for you. In this varied and exciting role, you will work on a range of projects and deliverables and provide strategic and policy advice to the Secretary, including acting as a conduit with the executive leadership team. In this role where no two days are the same, you will be a key point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders and use your proactive nature to ensure high quality briefings and advice are provided to the Secretary and deadlines are met.
This role might will also need to manage issues which straddle various elements of the portfolio, bringing strong co-ordination, research, analysis and policy skills to provide recommendations to the Secretary.
