About the Role
Ives Family Practice is seeking a highly experienced Registered Nurse to join our general practice team on a permanent full time basis.
We are looking for a clinically confident and proactive nurse with a minimum of five years' experience in general practice who can independently manage nursing appointments within their professional scope and work collaboratively with our GPs.
Commencement: Within 2–4 weeks.
Key Clinical Responsibilities
Infusions and Procedures
- Aclasta (zoledronic acid) infusions
- Intravenous iron infusions and IV saline administration
- Vitamin B12 and vitamin D injections
- Implanon insertion and removal, where appropriately trained and authorised
- Wound management and dressings
- Immunisations and vaccinations
Health Assessments and Preventive Care
- 45–49-year-old health assessments
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health assessments
- Health assessments for neurodivergent patients, including appropriate individualised support and reasonable adjustments
- 75+ health assessments
- Chronic disease management and care planning
- Preventive healthcare and patient education
Diagnostic Procedures
- ECGs
- Holter monitor fitting, patient education and removal
- Assisting GPs with minor procedures
All clinical procedures must be performed within the nurse's scope of practice, training, competency and applicable protocols.
Essential Requirements
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum five years' experience working in general practice
- Strong clinical assessment and procedural skills
- Experience in chronic disease management and preventive healthcare
- Ability to manage nursing appointments independently within scope
- Excellent communication and patient-centred care skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with GPs and administrative staff
- Proficiency in Best Practice clinical software
