Role Description This full-time Forensic Accountant role is based in Sydney, NSW and offered on a hybrid basis, combining office-based work with some work-from-home flexibility. The role involves conducting detailed forensic accounting examinations to support criminal investigations, including analysing complex financial records, tracing funds, and identifying indicators of fraud or money laundering. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing financial statements, performing business valuations, preparing clear analytical reports, and presenting findings to internal teams and external stakeholders.

Accountant collaborates with investigators, lawyers, and other specialists to develop evidence-based insights, assist in confiscation proceedings, and contribute to strategic case planning. The role also requires adherence to professional standards,



maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting continuous improvement in financial investigative practices.

Qualifications

- Strong forensic accounting and forensic analysis skills, with experience applying them in investigative or law enforcement contexts.
- Advanced analytical skills, including the ability to interpret complex financial data, detect anomalies, and trace financial flows.
- Proficiency in reviewing and interpreting financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Experience in business valuation, including assessing assets, liabilities, and the financial health of entities for investigative or litigation purposes.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, or a related discipline; skilled certification (e.g., CPA, CA, CFE) is highly regarded.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, concise reports and explain complex financial issues to non-specialists.
- High level of integrity, discretion, and commitment to ethical standards, including handling confidential information appropriately.
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams, manage competing priorities, and adapt in a dynamic investigative environment.
- Experience in government, law enforcement, regulatory, or litigation support environments is advantageous.
