Maestro is looking for a fractional Production Integration Manager to help a fast-growing, vertically integrated Australian livestock and premium meat business restructure into accountable, high-performing profit centres.

This is a 6-8 week engagement for a senior operator who has run complex agricultural supply chains before and knows how to turn operational sprawl into clear, owned accountability - quick.

The opportunity

Our client has scaled from a traditional pastoral operation into a sophisticated, end-to-end premium beef enterprise spanning genetics, breeding, feeding, processing, branding and international distribution. As the business grows, so does the need for a framework that makes every unit accountable for its own performance, not just the business as a whole.

Right now, strong units are absorbing the underperformance of weaker ones. That is costing the business momentum, morale and clarity heading into FY budget planning.

What you will be doing

- Mapping the value chain end to end, from breeding and feedlots through processing to market
- Defining business units as genuine profit centres, with clear inputs, outputs and boundaries
- Designing role-based accountability structures, focused on positions rather than the people currently in them
- Building flexible, market-reflective internal transfer pricing options
- Working directly with station managers, feedlot operators, processors and sales leaders to align the whole chain around consistent quality and output
- Handing over a practical implementation roadmap,

What good looks like Every unit owns its P&L.; The Executive team can trace performance to unit level, price internal transfers against live market conditions and walk into FY budget planning with a structure that survives changes in personnel, not one that depends on them.

What we are looking for

- 10+ years of experience in livestock production, meat processing or agricultural supply chain leadership
- A track record of building or resetting accountability frameworks across complex, multi-site operations
- Strong grounding in carcass grading, yield and quality systems (beef industry experience highly regarded)
- Comfort working directly with both field operators and executive leadership
- Availability for a defined, time-boxed engagement with regular travel to regional sites
