About the role We are looking for a reliable and safety-focused General Hand to join our team at a busy recycling and waste management facility in Newcastle.

You will be an important part of the day-to-day operation of our Newcastle recycling facility. You’ll help keep the site running safely and efficiently by directing vehicles, assisting customers and checking incoming loads.

Key Responsibilities

- Direct vehicles and manage traffic safely around the site.
- Check incoming loads and identify different types of waste.
- Identify and report hazardous or unsuitable materials.
- Ensure waste is placed in the correct disposal areas.
- Communicate waste information clearly to the weighbridge team.
- Report any hazards, issues or incorrect waste as soon as possible.
- Follow all workplace health, safety and environmental procedures.
- Keep the site safe, clean and organised.

About You To be successful in this role, you will have:

- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- The ability to perform repetitive manual handling and physical tasks.
- The ability to work in an outdoor industrial environment.
