You will provide personalised support to participants in their home and community, assisting them to achieve their goals, maintain their independence and enjoy a meaningful quality of life.
Key responsibilities
- Providing person-centred daily living support
- Supporting participants with personal care and household tasks
- Assisting with meal preparation and maintaining a safe, clean home environment
- Supporting participants to access the community and participate in activities
- Following individual support plans, routines and behaviour support strategies
- Supporting medication routines where appropriately trained
- Encouraging independence, choice and control
- Maintaining accurate progress notes and required documentation
- Working collaboratively with participants, families and the wider support team
- Responding appropriately to changes in participant needs or circumstances
About you
- Previous experience working with people with disability, preferably in SIL or residential settings
- A strong understanding of person-centred support
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work independently while also being part of a team
- A calm and responsible approach, particularly when situations are challenging
- Good judgement and an understanding of professional boundaries
- A strong work ethic and reliable attendance
- Confidence following support plans and established routines
- A genuine desire to build positive and respectful relationships with participants
- Previous disability support experience
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current First Aid and CPR
- Relevant NDIS mandatory training
- Australian working rights
- Ability to obtain any other required checks or clearances
