Plant Operator / Level 1 Labourer

Reg Latter Electrical Pty Ltd trading as RLE Electrical & Energy is seeking a reliable and motivated Plant Operator / Level 1 Labourer to join our team. This role is suited to someone who enjoys hands-on civil and electrical construction work, has strong plant and machinery capability, and is willing to support Level 1 overhead and underground electrical projects.

About the Role

Working as part of our Level 1 construction team, you will assist with plant operation, labouring tasks, fleet support, stores operations, and general site duties. The successful applicant will be safety-focused, practical, mechanically minded, and able to work well within a team environment.

Job Summary

RLE Electrical & Energy is looking for a motivated Plant Operator / Level 1 Labourer to join our skilled construction team and support a wide range of Level 1 electrical infrastructure projects. You will be involved in plant operation, overhead and underground works, fleet support, materials handling and general site duties, with the opportunity to build on your existing skills and gain further licences and competencies along the way.

Key Responsibilities In this role, you may be required to:

- Operate and assist with plant and equipment used on Level 1 electrical construction projects.





- Assist with overhead and underground electrical works, including site preparation, loading, unloading and general labouring duties.

- Operate cable trailer and wire winder trailer equipment where required.

- Support general fleet maintenance for heavy vehicles, excavators, tippers and other plant.

- Carry out basic mechanical repairs and maintenance tasks as required.

- Assist with stores operations, materials handling, and keeping work areas organised and safe.

- Follow all WHS procedures, SWMS requirements, site instructions and company safety expectations.

- HR or HC unrestricted driver’s licence.

- Demonstrated ability to operate plant and machinery safely, or a willingness to obtain relevant licences and competencies.

- Forklift, excavator, crane C6 and dogging experience or willingness to obtain.

- Ability to operate, or willingness to learn to operate, cable trailer and wire winder trailer equipment.

- Ability to obtain and maintain electrical authorisations / requirements where applicable.

- Strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to carry out general repairs to plant and equipment.

Required Skills and Licences The successful applicant will have, or be willing to obtain,



the following skills and competencies:

- Experience assisting with Level 1 overhead and underground electrical projects.

- General heavy fleet maintenance experience, including excavators, tippers and related plant.

- Auto electrical experience.

- Welding skills.

- Chainsaw competency.

- Spray painting experience.

- Stores operations experience.

- Loading and unloading vehicles safely and efficiently.
