We're looking for a hands-on Trades Assistant to join our Cat Rentals team in Laverton. Supporting our skilled technicians with repairs and day-to-day workshop operations, you'll play an important role in keeping our equipment maintained and ready for our customers.

This is a great chance for someone with some workshop or mechanical experience who's keen to develop their skills, gain valuable industry knowledge and build a career in the mobile plant industry.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Key responsibilities of this role include:

- Assist Technicians with repairs, rebuilds and component work
- Support strip-downs, cleaning and basic inspections
- Prepare tools, parts and materials for upcoming jobs
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop environment
- Complete job-related paperwork and follow established processes
- Provide quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders
- Assist with general workshop activities and equipment preparation
- Follow safety procedures and ensure all work meets quality standards

ABOUT YOU





To be considered for this role you will have the following skills, experience & attributes:

- Some workshop or mechanical experience (automotive, heavy equipment or similar)
- Basic skills using hand and power tools
- A genuine interest in heavy machinery and mechanical work
- A strong work ethic and willingness to learn from experienced tradespeople
- Reliability, punctuality and a team-first attitude
- Good communication skills and attention to detail
- A strong commitment to safety
- A current driver's licence and reliable transport
