Head of Compliance and Governance

People First Healthcare is part of People First Workforce, a growing multi-entity organisation operating across Aged Care, Home Care, NDIS, Healthcare and related services across Australia.

We are seeking an experienced Head of Compliance and Governance to lead compliance, clinical governance, quality, risk and regulatory requirements across our aged care operations.

This is a senior role working closely with the Executive team, Board and operational leaders to ensure compliance is embedded into everyday practice and that the organisation remains audit-ready.

About the Role

You will act as a subject matter expert across aged care compliance and governance, providing strategic advice while driving practical implementation across the organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

- Lead the Clinical Governance Framework, quality and continuous improvement programs.
- Oversee compliance with the Aged Care Act, Aged Care Quality Standards, Support at Home, CHSP and SIRS.
- Manage internal audits, regulatory engagement, assessment contacts and external audits.
- Own incident management, SIRS reporting, complaints, open disclosure and corrective actions.
- Maintain organisational and clinical risk registers and compliance obligations.
- Oversee contract, funding and program compliance, working closely with Finance.
- Develop and maintain policies, procedures, compliance frameworks and governance reporting.
- Prepare compliance, quality and risk reporting for the CEO, Executive and Board.




- Lead compliance training and promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the compliance and quality team.

About You

You will be an experienced compliance, governance, quality or clinical governance professional with solid knowledge of the Australian aged care environment.

You will bring:

- Senior experience in aged care compliance, governance, quality or clinical governance.
- Strong knowledge of aged care legislation, Quality Standards, Support at Home, CHSP and SIRS.
- Experience leading audits, investigations, risk management and regulatory engagement.
- Strong policy, reporting and continuous improvement capability.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical operational solutions.
- Strong leadership capability and a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
