Your new role The purpose of this role is to provide risk, compliance and vendor management services to ensure JANA operates with an effective risk management framework, maintains compliance with all applicable law, and operates an effective vendor management framework. You will work closely with JANA’s leadership team and Board, including in connection with JANA’s expanding services in the Wealth market. This role can be based in our Melbourne or Sydney office and reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

Some Of Your Responsibilities Will Include

- Lead and coordinate the implementation of JANA’s risk management framework, including in connection with JANA’s expanding services in the Wealth market
- Lead the monitoring and reporting on the implementation and outcomes of the risk management framework
- Lead Business Continuity Planning within JANA, including testing and desktop simulations
- Implement and continuously improve JANA’s compliance management program, with a particular emphasis on AFSL and AML compliance
- Lead and coordinate the implementation of JANA’s vendor management framework, including monitoring and reporting on outcomes




- Participate in AFSL and financial audits, engaging internal audit resources as required
- Provide assistance with regulatory liaison as required

About you Equally challenging and rewarding, this opportunity is perfect for someone with:

- 10+ years’ experience in legal, compliance or risk management within financial services, with knowledge of investment and wealth platforms essential
- A solid understanding of financial services laws and risk and compliance management frameworks
- The ability to implement an end-to-end risk management and compliance framework, leveraging existing frameworks and input from senior leaders
- The ability to build trust and respect from internal staff and the Board, and positively represent JANA’s brand with external stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- The ability to travel between Sydney and Melbourne

A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. law, risk management or compliance) is required alongside transferable work experience and skills. Being part of the team at JANA is just the beginning
