Position Duration: Permanent and ongoing, with the position intended to remain available for a minimum period of three years.
About the Role
NAA Group Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced ICT Systems Administrator to support and maintain our IT systems and infrastructure.
This is a hands-on technical role responsible for the administration, maintenance, security and ongoing reliability of our Microsoft, server, cloud, endpoint and network environments. The successful candidate will be involved in day-to-day systems administration, infrastructure support, troubleshooting, security, backups, system upgrades and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, administer and maintain server hardware, operating systems, software and related IT infrastructure.
- Administer and support Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services and related infrastructure.
- Administer Microsoft 365 and cloud services, including Microsoft Entra ID, Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online and OneDrive.
- Manage Microsoft Intune and endpoint management, including device enrolment, configuration profiles, compliance policies, application deployment, patching and Windows Autopilot.
- Manage user accounts, groups, licences, permissions, administrative access and security policies across business systems.
- Manage identity and access controls, including Multi-Factor Authentication, Conditional Access and role-based access.
- Monitor the availability, performance, capacity, integrity and security of servers, endpoints, networks, cloud services and other business-critical systems.
- Diagnose and resolve server, operating system, hardware, software, network connectivity and user-access issues.
- Provide Level 2 and Level 3 technical support and resolve escalated technical incidents and service requests.
- Configure, administer and troubleshoot network infrastructure and services, including switches, routers, wireless access points, firewalls, VPN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and LAN/WAN connectivity.
- Administer and monitor endpoint and infrastructure security solutions,
including Microsoft Defender and other security platforms used by the business.
- Review system and security alerts, investigate suspicious activity, assist with incident response and implement appropriate remediation.
- Manage vulnerability remediation, system hardening, operating system updates, security patches, firmware updates and application updates.
- Conduct and monitor regular system backups, recovery procedures and restore testing to protect business information and support disaster recovery and business continuity requirements.
- Plan and implement IT infrastructure changes, upgrades and system improvements using appropriate testing, change-management and rollback procedures.
- Support cloud-hosted and virtualised infrastructure, storage, compute and related services used by the organisation.
- Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts and other automation solutions to improve system administration and operational efficiency.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation covering system configurations, network and server information, administrative procedures, changes, backup and recovery processes and troubleshooting procedures.
- Maintain ICT asset, software, licence, warranty and configuration records and assist with equipment deployment, replacement and lifecycle management.
- Support ICT infrastructure projects, system migrations, technology implementations and upgrades.
- Liaise with external ICT vendors, suppliers and service providers to resolve technical issues, procure equipment and maintain business systems.
- Provide technical advice to management regarding system performance, security, capacity, infrastructure requirements and future technology improvements.
- Ensure IT systems and administrative activities comply with applicable security, privacy, confidentiality and organisational requirements.
Skills and Experience To be considered for this position, applicants must have:
- A minimum of three (3)
years of relevant professional experience in systems administration or a closely related ICT role, performing duties substantially similar to the responsibilities outlined in this advertisement.
- Demonstrated experience administering and maintaining IT systems, servers, cloud services, endpoints and network infrastructure.
- Strong experience administering Microsoft 365 environments, including Entra ID, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive.
- Experience administering Microsoft Intune, including device management, configuration profiles, compliance policies and application deployment.
- Experience supporting Windows Server and Windows 10/11 environments.
- Good understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, switching, routing and firewall technologies.
- Experience with Microsoft Defender or comparable endpoint and security platforms.
- Experience managing system backups, recovery and disaster-recovery processes.
- Experience with patch management, system updates and vulnerability remediation.
- Experience with PowerShell scripting and administrative automation.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of cybersecurity principles, identity management, access controls and least-privilege practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to maintain accurate technical documentation.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with management, users, vendors and external service providers.
Qualifications A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, Cyber Security or a related discipline is preferred. Relevant Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA or other industry certifications will also be highly regarded, but not compulsory.
