About the role

We are seeking an experienced marketing and communications professional to join UTS as Indigenous Marketing and Communication Manager.

You will lead the development and delivery of strategic, data-informed marketing and communication initiatives that raise UTS’s profile as a sector leader in Indigenous education, research and employment.

Working closely with the Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Indigenous Leadership and Engagement), Jumbunna and teams across UTS, you will provide strategic advice and deliver culturally appropriate campaigns, content and engagement activities that strengthen institutional visibility, champion best-practice Indigenous representation and support Indigenous-led storytelling.

About You

You are an experienced marketing and communication professional with the ability to develop and execute strategic marketing initiatives, build strong partnerships and deliver culturally appropriate outcomes within a complex organisation.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Proven ability to develop and execute strategic, audience-segmented marketing plans aligned with Indigenous strategies, institutional goals and brand strategy.
- Demonstrated ability to foster strong partnerships with a diverse range of stakeholders and collaborators, particularly Indigenous organisations and communities.
- Demonstrated understanding, or ability to rapidly develop understanding, of Indigenous cultural protocols and culturally safe ways of working.
- Demonstrated ability to manage the impact of racism, sensitive cultural content responsibly, including appropriate consultation, permissions, attribution and protection of Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property (ICIP).
- Strong analytical skills with experience using data and insights to inform strategy, optimise performance and report on outcomes.
- Robust leadership and decision-making capabilities, with the ability to influence outcomes,



navigate competing priorities and deliver strategic outcomes through persuasive communication and stakeholder alignment.
- A postgraduate or degree qualification in marketing, communications or business with extensive experience; extensive management experience and proven management expertise; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.

Remuneration & Benefits

Base Salary Range: $146,657 to $153,642 pa (HEW 9)

This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary.

The position is full-time and will be made on a continuing basis.

Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive cultural content responsibly, applying Indigenous cultural protocols to consultation, approvals, storytelling, and representation, in the context of marketing and communications and ensuring appropriate consultation, permissions, attribution and protection of Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property (ICIP).
5. Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities under pressure,



including the ability to influence outcomes, navigate competing priorities, and deliver strategic outcomes through persuasive communication and stakeholder alignment.
