Lead Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer | Brisbane

Take the lead on E&I; engineering across diverse minerals processing and heavy industry projects.

Sedgman Prudentia is seeking an experienced Lead Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer to join our Brisbane team.

This is an opportunity to take technical ownership of E&I; deliverables across multiple project phases, from early-stage studies and design through to construction and commissioning support. You will work closely with clients and multidisciplinary engineering teams, providing practical solutions to complex brownfield and minerals processing challenges.

What you'll do

- Lead electrical and instrumentation engineering activities across studies and multidisciplinary projects.
- Take ownership of E&I; technical deliverables, including specifications, calculations, drawings, scopes of work and work packs.
- Lead and contribute to early-stage engineering studies, FEED and detailed design.
- Work directly with clients to understand requirements and develop practical engineering solutions.
- Support site investigations, construction, commissioning and contractor activities.
- Review and guide engineering work to ensure appropriate technical standards and project requirements are met.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines throughout the project lifecycle.

What you'll bring

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Around 7+ years' relevant engineering experience, ideally within Australian heavy industry, resources or minerals processing.
- Strong electrical and instrumentation design capability.
- Experience leading engineering studies, scopes or projects in a discipline lead capacity.




- Experience preparing and reviewing engineering calculations and technical documentation.
- Practical site experience across investigations, construction and commissioning.
- Familiarity with relevant Australian Standards.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the confidence to work directly with clients.
- Ability developing single line diagrams, termination diagrams and schematics.
- Competent in reading and interpreting piping & instrumentation diagrams.
- Understand electrical power system studies and modelling using software packages.

Highly regarded

- Minerals processing or heavy industry experience.
- Brownfield project experience.
- RPEQ, Chartered Engineer or other relevant professional registration.
- FEED and feasibility study experience.
- Control systems design experience.
- Hazardous areas design and equipment specification.
- HAZOP, process safety or machine safety experience.
- Previous multidisciplinary engineering consultancy experience.
