Task Recruitment

Perth

This is a great prospect to join a global market leader in mining equipment and technology, supporting advanced Mining Operational Technology (OT) used by major mining operations around the world.

We are looking for an early-career to mid-career Level 1/2 Service Desk Engineer to join the team at its office located near Perth Airport. This is an office-based position requiring you to work in the office five days per week.

You'll become part of a high-performing global support organisation with support professionals located across the globe. The organisation provides 24/7 support using a follow-the-sun model, with support responsibilities transitioning between teams in different regions as the working day moves around the world.

Your primary focus will be supporting Driver Safety Systems (DSS), including the technologies used to monitor operator awareness, detect fatigue and distraction, and improve safety outcomes in live mining environments around the world.

As your knowledge develops, you'll also gain exposure to and learn other systems within the company's broader Mining Operational Technology suite. This provides an excellent opportunity to develop a broad understanding of the sophisticated technology being used to automate, optimise and manage modern mining operations.

You don't need to know everything on day one. What matters most is curiosity, collaboration, strong troubleshooting skills and a willingness to learn. You'll receive structured training, hands-on mentoring and support from experienced colleagues while you build your knowledge of these sophisticated Mining OT products.

This role is ideal if you're looking to build strong technical capability in a structured and supportive environment,

gain exposure to world-leading mining technology and potentially progress into specialist technical roles over time.

What we're looking for To be successful, you will have:

- An industry certification or tertiary qualification in IT
- Experience in a Service Desk or IT support environment, and/or on-site mining or Mining Dealer experience
- Exposure to enterprise systems and structured support processes using ITIL practices, including incident management and root cause analysis
- An analytical and methodical approach to troubleshooting
- Excellent attention to detail
- A genuine customer-focused mindset
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- The ability and willingness to work from the office near Perth Airport five days per week

Highly regarded experience It would be advantageous to have exposure to one or more of the following:

- Microsoft Server environments, including virtualisation
- SQL Server
- TCP/IP networking
- Mining or heavy-industry systems such as MineStar, Modular Dispatch, Leica Jigsaw, or similar
- Technology interacting with hardware, electronics or operational environments
- Large-scale, real-world operational systems

Training, hours & weekend support Initially, you will work Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm, from the office near Perth Airport.

The role is office-based five days per week, providing comprehensive product training,

hands-on mentoring and close support from experienced team members while you become familiar with the Mining OT products you'll be supporting.

Your initial focus will be developing strong technical knowledge of the Driver Safety Systems (DSS) application, before progressively learning other systems across the broader Mining OT suite.

The organisation operates a 24/7 follow-the-sun support model, with support teams located in different regions around the world providing continuous coverage.

Once you are fully trained and have developed sufficient product knowledge, the role will include approximately one weekend day per month as part of the team's global support coverage. Further details regarding the weekend support arrangements will be discussed during the interview process.

Weekend support is shared across the team, with specialist technical support available for escalation when required.

Strong onboarding, mentoring and continuous learning are embedded into the role, giving you the opportunity to progressively broaden your Mining OT knowledge and develop specialist technical expertise.

The opportunity

This is an initial 12-month contract with a very strong possibility of extensions or transition to a permanent role for strong performers.

This is not a hybrid or work-from-home position. You will be required to work onsite at the office near Perth Airport five days per week.

There is also the opportunity for optional ad-hoc travel to mine sites for those interested, although mine site travel is not mandatory.

Candidates must hold Australian or New Zealand citizenship or Australian Permanent Residency to be considered.
