About Your New Role

n

As Workshop Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the safe, efficient and profitable operation of the workshop and yard.

n

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys being on the tools while also having the capability to lead a team, manage costs, coordinate inventory and make sound commercial decisions.

n

This is a permanent, full time role working a Monday-Friday day roster. The workshop is located in Kempsey.

Your responsibilities will include:

n

- Lead and coach the workshop team, fostering a safe, accountable and high-performing culture.
n
- Remain hands-on with heavy machinery dismantling, component assessment, repair and refurbishment.
n
- Manage parts, inventory and procurement, including component identification.
n
- Oversee plant, equipment and site maintenance, ensuring the workshop and yard remain safe, organised and operational.
n
- Drive cost control, productivity and efficiency, balancing repair costs,



turnaround times, reuse and value recovery.
n
- Identify operational improvements and risks, providing practical recommendations to management to improve workshop performance and profitability.

About You

n

Ideally, you will bring:

n

n
- Trade qualification in heavy diesel, mechanical or a related discipline.
n
- Hands-on heavy equipment experience, including dismantling, component assessment, repair and refurbishment.
n
- Workshop leadership experience, with the ability to lead and develop a team.
n
- Strong mechanical diagnostics, parts identification and inventory management skills, including CAT SIS or equivalent.
n
- Commercially minded and practical, with sound judgement around repair, replacement, cost and value recovery.
n
- Strong communicator and accountable leader who is adaptable, solutions-focused and willing to lead from the front.
