About the role We are looking for an experienced and reliable Maintenance Fitter to join our team at our Newcastle recycling facility for a 12-month contract.





This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working with heavy machinery, solving mechanical problems and working as part of a practical and supportive team.

You will work closely with the Site Manager and operations team to identify issues, complete repairs and minimise equipment downtime.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain and repair site machinery and equipment.
- Repair and maintain conveyors, crushers, and screens.
- Carry out breakdown and emergency repairs when needed.
- Complete welding, fabrication and general repairs.
- Assist with general site maintenance.
- Complete safety checks and required paperwork.
- Report hazards, faults and incidents.
- Follow all site safety procedures and wear the correct PPE.

About You We are looking for someone who is:

- A qualified Maintenance Fitter / Mechanical Fitter.
- Experienced in mechanical maintenance and repairs.
- Confident working with conveyors, crushers, screens and processing equipment.
- Experienced with welding and fabrication.
- Safety-focused and committed to following procedures.
- Able to troubleshoot problems and work independently.
