About the role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join the team at WA Specialised. This is a full time, site-based position involving work across Western Australia.

As a Mechanical Fitter, you will play an important role in the construction and installation of water infrastructure projects throughout WA. You will be provided with a work utility vehicle and the necessary tooling and equipment to support you in completing onsite construction works.

The role will involve a combination of metropolitan and regional projects, including travel to towns and communities across Western Australia. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson looking for a varied role with the opportunity to work on major infrastructure projects across the state.

Key responsibilities

- Assembling, fitting and installing mechanical components, machinery and equipment according to technical specifications and drawings
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, technical specifications and work instructions to ensure accurate assembly and installation
- Testing installed equipment and machinery to verify functionality and compliance with specifications
- Liaising with other team members, supervisors and clients to ensure work is completed on schedule and to specification
- Maintaining a safe and clean work environment, adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations and procedures
- Documenting work completed and maintaining accurate records of maintenance and repairs

- SMP construction works

What we're looking for

- A recognised qualification in mechanical fitting or a related engineering / plumbing trade
- Proven experience working as a Mechanical Fitter, ideally within the water infrastructure field.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation




- Competency in using a range of hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A commitment to health and safety in the workplace
- ability to work in a crew and oversee trades assistant / apprentice
