Acumenis is an Australian cyber security provider delivering CREST-accredited penetration testing projects, GRC advisory services, and managed security. We're a close-knit team of cyber specialists, based in southeast Queensland, with clients spread across Australia and the world.

As we grow, we have an opportunity for a penetration tester to join our Assurance team. We're looking for someone with a solid sense of curiosity and a keen eye for detail. Someone who enjoys poking around new technologies, pulling loose threads, and piecing together attack chains.

You'll test a mix of environments for organisations ranging from startups through to ASX50 companies, by discovering their weaknesses and giving practical recommendations that clients can actually act on. Testing will primarily be against web applications and associated technologies.

This role will be performed during standard business hours (AEST/AEDT) and is suitable for predominantly remote work based in the Brisbane region. Occasionally, some interstate travel may be necessary.

What you'll be doing

- Leading penetration testing engagements from scoping or kick-off through to reporting.
- Writing findings up clearly,



and walking stakeholders through them when needed.
- Bringing relevant threat intelligence into your testing approach.
- Helping scope new engagements so they're sized and resourced appropriately.
- Working closely with our Security Assurance Lead to deliver on time and on budget.
- Contributing to how the team works and improves.
- Keeping current with new technologies and testing practice, including AI testing capabilities.

What we're looking for

- Two or more years in penetration testing.
- OSCP or OSWE (or equivalent hands-on evidence of the same capability).
- Excellent written and verbal communication, to describe and discuss findings with both engineers and executives, and prompt action from either.
- The ability to run engagements independently, ask for input when necessary, and manage your own time and workload.
- A habit of self-directed learning when you meet a technology you haven't seen before.

Also useful

- Experience testing mobile applications and AI technologies
- CREST CRT or other relevant industry certifications.

Eligibility

- Australian citizenship.
- Willingness to complete a background check (including a national police check) on joining and every two years thereafter.
