iPowr Energy

Melbourne

iPowr Energy is entering its next stage of growth, and we are looking for a highly organised, hands-on Operations Manager to take ownership of the operational engine behind our residential solar and battery business.

This is not a strategy-only management role.

We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys being in the systems, picking up the phone, solving problems, chasing outcomes and making sure nothing gets left behind.

You’ll be joining an established business in a high-growth phase, with existing sales, administration, installation support and technical compliance resources already in place. Your job is to bring these moving parts together and make the operation run.

The Role

You will take ownership of the customer journey from sale through installation, payment, compliance and job close-out.

Working directly with the Managing Director, you will coordinate our internal team, subcontract installers and technical/compliance resources to ensure every job keeps moving.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the business.
- Managing and holding our administration, install coordination and procurement/support team accountable.
- Maintaining complete visibility over every active customer and installation.
- Ensuring customers are proactively contacted and kept informed.
- Ensuring phones, emails and customer enquiries are responded to promptly.
- Managing installation scheduling and installer capacity.
- Coordinating electricians across multiple markets.
- Ensuring materials and equipment are available ahead of installation.
- Identifying blocked or delayed jobs and driving them through to resolution.
- Managing installation-day issues and escalations.
- Ensuring invoices, outstanding payments and job documentation are completed.
- Working closely with Technical QA/Compliance to ensure jobs are properly closed.
- Managing workflows, task boards,

CRM records and operational reporting.
- Ensuring every task has an owner, deadline and outcome.
- Continuously identifying opportunities to improve processes and automate repetitive work.

What We’re Looking For

We care more about how you operate than having the perfect industry background.

You’ll likely be someone who:

- Is extremely organised and process-driven.
- Loves systems, task management and keeping things moving.
- Is comfortable spending significant time working from a computer.
- Doesn’t hesitate to pick up the phone and solve a problem.
- Is persistent with follow-up and naturally holds people accountable.
- Can manage multiple customers, suppliers, contractors and priorities simultaneously.
- Has strong customer-service instincts.
- Is commercially minded and understands that delays and mistakes cost money.
- Can work independently and make decisions.
- Enjoys building better processes rather than accepting inefficient ones.
- Is confident managing both local and offshore team members.
- Is comfortable working directly with founders in a fast-moving environment.

Experience in solar, electrical, construction, trades, logistics, field services or installation-based businesses would be highly regarded, but isn’t essential for the right operator.

Experience with CRMs, workflow/project-management software and cloud-based systems is significant.

What Success Looks Like

You’ll know you’re succeeding when:

- Every active job has a clear status, owner and next action.

- Customers know what’s happening without needing to chase us.
- Installers know where they’re going and what they’re installing.
- Jobs are genuinely installation-ready before electricians arrive.
- Procurement and materials are organised ahead of time.
- Problems are identified before they become emergencies.
- Outstanding payments and documentation are followed through.
- Operational tasks aren’t becoming overdue or disappearing.
- Management has clear visibility over installation capacity and upcoming workload.
- The Managing Director is no longer routinely stepping into day-to-day operational issues.

Location & Working Arrangement The role will be headquartered from our South Yarra office.

We operate a hybrid working environment, with the successful candidate expected to work approximately 3–4 days per week from the South Yarra office, with flexibility to work remotely for the balance.

Particularly during onboarding and the initial operational build-out, greater office attendance may be required.

Why Join iPowr?

We’re building a technology-led energy retailer with ambitious growth plans.

You’ll be joining at a point where the foundations are already in place, but the operational function needs someone to take ownership of it and make it hum.

For the right person, this isn’t simply an Operations Manager position. As the company scales, there is significant scope for the role to develop into broader Head of Operations / senior operational leadership responsibility.

If you’re the person who walks into a messy situation, opens the systems, makes a list, starts calling people and doesn’t stop until everything is under control, we want to hear from you.

Apply via LinkedIn with your CV and a short introduction outlining why you believe you’re suited to a hands-on operational leadership role.
