About The Role The Sheriff’s Operations Centre (SOC) is a critical business unit within the Operations and Capability Branch, delivering 24/7 operational support to the Sheriff’s Office across Western Australia.
As the central coordination hub, the SOC plays a vital role in supporting frontline operations, providing timely advice, situational awareness, and operational coordination. The team is responsible for managing critical incident notifications, delivering security and operational advice, providing tactical support to mitigate operational risks, and coordinating resources for regional court circuits, including both in-person and audio-visual proceedings.
Operating seven days a week as the Sheriff’s Office's central point of contact, the SOC contributes to the safe, effective, and effective delivery of court security and custodial services across the state, ensuring a coordinated response to operational demands and emerging issues.
Responsibilities The Sheriff’s Office of Western Australia plays a vital role in supporting the justice system and community safety across the State. Our responsibilities include:
- Enforcing civil court orders
- Enforcing fines, penalties and infringement notices
- Serving witness summonses on behalf of the State
- Delivering court and tribunal security and custodial services
- Managing jury services across Western Australia.
Suitability Requirements Through the recruitment process, we will be looking for candidates who can demonstrate skills, experience and attributes in relation to the following: Shapes and Manages Strategy - demonstrated ability to analyse operational information, identify emerging risks and issues, and contribute to operational planning and decision-making to support safe and effective service delivery across a complex operational environment.
Achieves Results - demonstrated experience coordinating operational activities in a fast-paced environment, including managing competing priorities, responding to incidents, and ensuring the timely delivery of services and operational support.
Communicates and Influences Effectively - well-developed communication skills, including the ability to provide accurate operational advice, prepare clear reports and briefings, and communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders during routine operations and critical incidents.
