Role Description FIFO, on-site role based in Western Australia, Australia, working across mining and heavy industrial sites. Day-to-day responsibilities include fitting, removing, and repairing off-the-road (OTR) tyres on heavy equipment such as haul trucks, loaders, and earthmoving machinery.

The role involves conducting tyre inspections, pressure checks, and tread assessments, identifying wear patterns, and recommending corrective actions to reduce downtime and extend tyre life.

Qualifications

- Experience in OTR, heavy equipment, or mining tyre fitting, including secure removal, installation, repair, and inflation of large tyres.
- Knowledge of tyre wear patterns, load ratings, tyre compounds, and rim/lock ring assemblies, with the ability to conduct thorough inspections and diagnostics.
- Proficiency in using tyre fitting tools and equipment (e.g.,



hydraulic jacks, bead breakers, torque tools, lifting devices) and following safe work practices.
- Strong understanding of mining and site safety requirements, including hazard identification, risk assessment, and adherence to permit-to-work systems.
- Ability to read and follow technical instructions, maintenance procedures, and manufacturer guidelines related to tyres and heavy equipment.
- Good physical fitness and capacity to perform manual handling tasks, work in varying weather conditions, and operate in remote or high-risk environments.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with supervisors, technicians, and site personnel, and to maintain clear service and inspection records.
- Valid driver’s license (mine site or heavy vehicle license advantageous) and ability to meet site access and medical requirements.
- Previous experience in mining, civil, or heavy haulage operations is highly regarded; relevant trade or industry certifications in tyre fitting or heavy equipment maintenance are an advantage.
