KOTUG’s areas of expertise include Terminal Towage, Harbour Towage, Offshore Operations and Salvage Operations. We charter vessels to clients worldwide on short- and long-term contracts. Our long-standing knowledge is consolidated in the Maritime Excellence Centre which provides training and consultancy.

KOTUG Maritime Services Australia Pty Ltd are seeking an Operations Superintendent for our operation in Port Hedland WA. FIFO from Perth is a option.

This position is accountable for the safe and reliable delivery of operations and overseeing operational activities for KOTUG’s Port Hedland site.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate the following:

- Treats health, safety and environmental compliance as a top priority.
- Maintain regulatory compliance for all vessels.
- Support the Operations Manager in leading the day to day operational requirements of the fleet
- Assist with maintaining Operations and HSEQ standards.
- Responsible for maintaining operations compliance and navigation standards, including:
- Audits
- Class Inspections
- Annual Inspections





- Participate in conducting risk management and management of change reviews in accordance with the safety management system.
- Participate in incident and root cause investigation, corrective and preventative action implementation plans.
- Carry out scheduled leadership vessel visits and operational inspections.

Required knowledge, skills and experience:

- Desirable Marine Qualification.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the Marine industry associated with vessel operations.
- Safety leadership capability and a commitment to continuous improvement;
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills;
- Ability to maintain positive and effective relationships with the client, operational team and other members of management;
- Demonstrated understanding of marine legislation as well as environmental requirements;
- Demonstrated Commercial and financial acumen
- Computer literacy
