Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Optometrist role based at Paul Fell Eyecare in Forest Lake, QLD. The Optometrist will conduct comprehensive eye examinations, including refractions, ocular health assessments, contact lens evaluations, and monitoring of eye conditions. Day-to-day responsibilities include diagnosing vision and eye health issues, prescribing glasses and contact lenses, and educating patients on treatment options and preventive eye care.

The role involves working closely with support staff to coordinate patient appointments, maintain accurate clinical records, and ensure a smooth patient journey. The Optometrist will also contribute to practice growth by building strong patient relationships and supporting a welcoming,

Qualifications

- Current optometry degree and registration (or eligibility for registration) with the relevant Australian optometry board and regulatory authorities.
- Solid clinical skills in refraction, ocular health assessment, contact lens fitting, and management of common eye conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain clinical findings clearly and build trust with patients of all ages.
- Attention to detail, accurate record-keeping, and familiarity with practice management and electronic clinical systems.
- Commitment to patient-centered care, ethical practice, and maintaining high standards of professional conduct.
- Ability to work effectively within a small team, manage time well, and adapt to varying patient volumes.
- Interest in ongoing professional development and staying current with advances in optometry and eye care.
- Prior experience in community or private practice optometry is beneficial but not mandatory for strong early-career candidates.
