PROGRESS HEALTH u0026 GENERAL PRACTICE NIGHTCLIFF

Darwin

Progress Health & General Practice: Whole-person healthcare. A positive workplace. A practice built with intention.

On January 04, 2027 we're opening a new kind of general practice in Darwin. Progress Health & General Practice is a private and independently owned integrative medicine General Practice and allied health clinic built around whole-person healthcare, solid relationships, and a belief that both patients and staff deserve exceptional healthcare and workplace experiences.

We're looking for an experienced and mature person to Practice Manage and help bring that vision to life.

This isn't a role where you'll inherit years of entrenched systems and spend your days putting out fires. Instead, you'll join us at the beginning, helping create the foundations, culture, systems and team that will shape the practice for years to come.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who wants to be a genuine partner in the journey.

As clinicians and first-time practice owners, we know we won't have all the answers. We're looking for someone who can bring experience, wisdom, practical advice and leadership while helping us build something we're all proud of.

About Us

At Progress Health & General Practice, we believe healthcare should be thoughtful, compassionate and person-centred.

Our clinic combines conventional general practice with integrative and functional medicine approaches, supporting patients across preventive health, chronic disease management, women's health, men's health, pain, fatigue, neurodiversity, metabolic health and wellbeing.

Just as importantly, we want our practice to be a place where our team feels valued, supported and genuinely enjoys coming to work.

We believe excellent patient care starts with a workplace where people feel safe, supported, valued and able to thrive.

We are committed to creating a workplace built on respect, kindness, clear communication and healthy boundaries. We welcome people with different backgrounds, experiences, perspectives and working styles, and are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where both staff and patients feel welcome.

The Opportunity

This is a rare opportunity to help establish a brand-new medical practice from the ground up.

You'll work closely with the Director to develop systems, processes and workflows that support both exceptional patient experiences and a sustainable, well-run business.

You'll have genuine autonomy, a direct voice in decision-making, and the opportunity to influence how the practice evolves.

Your responsibilities will include

- Developing and improving practice systems, policies and workflows
- Leading, supporting and mentoring the administrative team
- Recruitment, onboarding, rostering and staff development
- Compliance, accreditation, risk management and quality systems
- Financial administration, billing oversight and reporting
- Managing suppliers, facilities and operational requirements
- Supporting a positive patient experience and service improvements
- Working alongside clinicians to ensure efficient day-to-day operations
- Identifying opportunities for growth, improvement and innovation
- Providing practical management advice to the owners
- Occasionally assisting at reception and pitching in where needed

Because we're a small team, we're looking for someone who enjoys being hands-on while also keeping sight of the bigger picture.

About You

You'll bring experience managing people, a general practice or medical clinic (at least 2 years) and you understand what makes a healthcare business run well.

More importantly, you'll be someone who:

- Takes ownership and follows things through
- Enjoys building systems and improving processes
- Can confidently provide advice and guidance
- Leads with kindness, professionalism and common sense
- Builds positive relationships and a healthy team culture
- Balances attention to detail with strategic thinking
- Is adaptable,

practical and solutions-focused
- Enjoys creating rather than simply maintaining

We're looking for someone who can lead with both competence and compassion, helping create an environment where staff feel supported, patients feel welcomed, and challenges can be discussed openly and respectfully. Experience in integrative, lifestyle or functional medicine would be welcomed but is certainly not essential.

Qualifications in practice management, business management, HR or accounting would also be welcomed but not essential.

What We Offer

We know great Practice Managers are often expected to carry enormous responsibility with insufficient support.

We want this role to feel different.

You'll enjoy

- Genuine autonomy and trust
- Direct access to the Director
- A meaningful voice in practice decisions
- Support when challenges arise
- Respect for your expertise and experience
- Flexibility and work-life balance
- A supportive and safe workplace
- Clear communication, realistic expectations and collaborative problem-solving
- A culture that values wellbeing, respect and professional growth
- The opportunity to shape a practice from its earliest days

Most importantly, you'll be joining a team that values collaboration, healthy communication, mutual respect and looking after one another.

What Success Looks Like

Twelve months from now, you'll be able to look around the practice and see systems that work, a team that feels supported, patients who feel genuinely cared for, and a clinic that reflects the values we set out to create.

You'll know your contribution helped build something meaningful from the ground up.

Interested?

If you're an experienced Manager looking for a role where your knowledge is genuinely valued and your ideas can make a real difference, we'd love to hear from you.

This is an opportunity to join a new practice at the beginning of its journey and have a meaningful influence on what it becomes.

Please apply with your CV and a brief cover letter telling us about your experience and what you're looking for in your next role.
