About the role The Process/Project Engineer is responsible for supporting plant with execution of capital projects, production support function, and technical knowledge supply to the plant, and will manage a broad range of projects and tasks to meet timelines and budgets for projects. A significant proportion of projects will be of a continual improvement nature, requiring analytical and troubleshooting skills. The role also includes scoping, design, costing, planning, execution, commissioning and close out of capital and improvement projects in a consultative, timely, effective, quality and safety focused manner.

Key responsibilities

- Identification of root causes of plant performance issues, leveraging the knowledge and skills of plant operators, tradesmen, and peers

- Identification and implementation of energy savings and waste reduction initiatives and projects

- Identification of potential plant improvements to help internal customers achieve their KPIs

- Complete process designs to engineering standards and comply with relevant project engineering procedures

- Engage and manage external consultants where internal resources are not adequate or available

- Prepare project scope documents, complete costings and produce project timelines and manage internal resources and external contractors





- Lead HAZOP/HACCP reviews of proposed process changes or installations

- Lead technical investigations and provide technical advice into process related quality, safety or compliance issues

- Supervise contractors to ensure compliance with site safety standards and relevant legislative requirements

- Be on site to supervise all scheduled works and provide commissioning and post-commissioning support, including working outside of normal office hours

About you

- Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical), or a relevant mechanical trade with substantial post-qualification experience

- Sound understanding of OH&S; requirements as they relate to the construction and operation of a manufacturing plant

- Well-developed logical and lateral thinking skills with a capacity for innovation

- Ability and flexibility to handle several demands at once and prioritise

- IT skills – Word, Excel, Project & Microsoft Outlook

- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact suitably with varying levels within the company

- Good attention to detail

- Excellent planning and co-ordination skills

- Ability to deal in a professional and friendly manner with internal and external customers and contractors
