This is driven by our growing and ageing population, and compounded by pressures on primary, aged and disability care. To help address this, Health Infrastructure Queensland (HIQ), in partnership with Hospital and Health Services (HHS), is leading the biggest hospital expansion program Queensland has ever seen.

The program includes building three new hospitals, expanding 11, upgrading rural and regional health facilities and delivering thousands of new hospital beds. In addition, the intent is for this to be the first tranche of a 15-year program of infrastructure investments. The Procurement Lead, Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment (FFE) will lead the end-to-end planning, procurement and delivery of FFE for a major health infrastructure project. The role will manage procurement and probity requirements, tender and contract administration, project reporting, stakeholder engagement and the coordination of specialised FFE requirements to support successful project delivery.





About the Projects

New Bundaberg Hospital – 3-year temporary opportunity The New Bundaberg Hospital will deliver more than 410 beds and bed alternatives, including at least 139 new overnight beds. Detailed Design is currently underway, with this role supporting the development of the DD100 list and future FFE specification and procurement activities.

New Toowoomba Hospital – 3-year temporary opportunity The New Toowoomba Hospital will be the main referral hospital for the Darling Downs region, delivering at least 538 overnight beds, expanded emergency and specialised services, a cardiac lab, additional dialysis services and a multi-storey car park.

QEII Hospital Expansion – Temporary chance until January 2028

The QEII Hospital Expansion will deliver 112 new inpatient beds, upgraded surgical facilities, expanded intensive care services and a new multi-level car park with 1,379 spaces.

The positions are based in Brisbane, Bundaberg and Toowoomba, with travel to project sites, the project HHS, and/or the HIQ office in Brisbane as needed.

These are temporary specialist positions established specifically to support the listed projects. The positions are required for the duration of the project and are expected to cease at the conclusion of the project. The roles are therefore being offered on a temporary basis for a defined period.
