About the Role

Road & Rail Excavations is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our growing team in Sydney.

Supporting Sydney Water infrastructure projects, you will take full accountability for the successful delivery of projects from planning and mobilisation through to completion and handover.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the safe delivery of Sydney Water infrastructure projects from planning to handover.
- Manage budgets, forecasting, cashflow, procurement, and commercial performance.
- Develop and maintain project schedules to achieve key milestones.
- Manage relationships with clients, stakeholders, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Lead and mentor Project Engineers, Supervisors, and site teams.
- Drive safety, quality, environmental, programme, and commercial outcomes.
- Administer contracts, variations, EOTs, and contractual obligations.
- Identify and manage project risks, issues, and opportunities.
- Oversee project reporting, forecasting, and resource planning.
- Chair project meetings and provide updates to senior management.
- Support tendering, procurement, and project planning activities.
- Promote a strong safety-first and continuous improvement culture.

About You

Requirements:

- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.




- 7 years' experience in civil, utilities, infrastructure, or construction projects.
- 3 years' experience in a Project Manager role.
- Proven delivery of Sydney Water and utilities infrastructure projects.
- Strong commercial, contract, budget, and procurement management experience.
- Demonstrated leadership of subcontractors, self-perform workforces, and project teams.
- Strong project controls capability including cost, schedule, forecasting, reporting, and risk management.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Working knowledge of NEC4, AS4000, or similar contract frameworks is desirable.
- Proactive, hands-on leadership approach with a focus on project outcomes.

Essential Requirements:

- Unrestricted Australian working rights.
- Current Australian Driver's License.
- Construction Industry White Card.
- Ability to pass pre-employment medical, reference, and background checks.
