This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced psychologist with a passion for high-quality, affirming psychological assessment to take a leading clinical role within our established and growing Testing Clinic.

We are seeking a Clinic Lead – Assessment Psychologist who can combine their assessment expertise with the rewarding work of supervision, clinical consultation and quality improvement. You will work alongside psychologists providing Autism, ADHD, learning and cognitive assessments, supporting clinicians to deliver thoughtful, evidence-based assessments that genuinely help clients and families understand themselves, recognise their strengths and identify supports that may be helpful.

This is not necessarily an assessment-only role. If you enjoy maintaining a therapeutic caseload alongside assessment and supervision work, we would be very happy to design a role that gives you that balance.

Our assessment work is collaborative, evidence-based and neurodiversity-affirming. We believe assessment should go beyond test scores and diagnostic criteria to provide a meaningful understanding of each person's individual profile, including their strengths, differences and support needs. Our multidisciplinary team of psychologists, speech pathologists, dietitians and a paediatrician also creates opportunities for interdisciplinary consultation when understanding complex presentations.

In our therapeutic work, we integrate relational approaches—such as schema therapy, attachment-based interventions, and psychodynamic principles—with skills-based approaches, including CBT, ACT, and DBT. Across both assessment and therapy, our approach is trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming, fat-positive and culturally responsive. We value lived experience perspectives alongside research and clinical expertise and seek to work collaboratively with clients rather than positioning the clinician as the sole expert on their experience.

Lead and Support Excellence in Psychological Assessment

As Clinical Lead – Assessment Psychologist, you will be a source of clinical expertise within our Testing Clinic, providing supervision, consultation and guidance to psychologists undertaking assessment work. You will contribute to high-quality, consistent and affirming assessment practice through report review, clinical consultation and the ongoing development of our assessment resources and processes.

Alongside your clinical leadership responsibilities, you will continue to provide assessments within your areas of expertise, with the option to maintain a therapeutic caseload if you enjoy a mix of assessment and therapy.

As our Testing Clinic grows,



there may be scope for the role to evolve to include broader service leadership and operational responsibilities. At present, operational responsibility remains with an existing member of our leadership team, allowing this role to focus on clinical excellence, supervision and assessment practice.

The Assessment Clinic Lead is a permanent employed position available 3–5 days per week. Your role can include a combination of assessment, supervision and therapeutic work depending on your experience, interests and career goals.

If you love assessment and would like it to form the majority of your clinical work, we can build the role around this over time. If you would prefer to maintain a mix of assessment and therapeutic work, you are also welcome to retain a therapy caseload in your areas of clinical interest.

There may also be opportunities to contribute to broader supervision, training, research and service innovation depending on your experience and career goals.

Key Details Summary

Position: Clinical Lead – Assessment Psychologist

Employment: Permanent employed role, part-time or full-time (3–5 days per week)

Location: Bella Vista, Northwest Sydney, with hybrid work options available where appropriate

Required Qualifications: Full registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA

Experience: Demonstrated experience in psychological assessment, with experience across areas such as Autism, ADHD, learning and/or cognitive assessment

Supervision: Experience and confidence providing clinical supervision and guidance to psychologists undertaking assessment work. Board Approved Supervisor status is desirable but not essential.

Clinical Work: Assessment caseload, with the option to maintain a therapeutic caseload according to your interests

Leadership: This is a clinical leadership position rather than a management role, with no direct reports, budgetary or line management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

As Clinical Lead – Assessment Psychologist, you will:

- Provide day-to-day clinical supervision, consultation and guidance to psychologists undertaking psychological assessments.
- Provide psychological assessments within your own areas of expertise, which may include Autism, ADHD, learning, cognitive and other psychological assessments.
- Review psychological assessment reports and provide feedback to clinicians to support high-quality, consistent and affirming assessment practice.
- Provide advice and consultation regarding assessment selection, administration, interpretation, formulation and recommendations.
- Support clinicians to integrate assessment findings with developmental, contextual and other relevant information to develop thoughtful and individualised formulations and recommendations.
- Support assessment practices that recognise neurodivergent strengths and differences while accurately identifying areas in which a person may require or benefit from support.
- Contribute to quality assurance activities within the Testing Clinic.
- Contribute expertise to the review and development of assessment processes, resources, templates and clinical guidelines.
- Support the professional development of psychologists undertaking assessment work.
- Work collaboratively with the Testing Clinic's operational lead and community connections team to support the ongoing development of the service.
- Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team, client care team and external professionals where appropriate to support comprehensive assessment and care.
- Maintain a therapeutic caseload if desired, allowing you to combine assessment and supervision with ongoing clinical intervention.
