Company Description The RMIT Centre for Nature Positive Solutions combines innovative research with practical action to address climate change, biodiversity loss, and ecosystem degradation. The Centre focuses on developing science-based solutions that can be implemented by governments, industry, and communities to restore and protect natural systems. Role Description The Research Fellow will conduct applied and theoretical research related to nature-positive solutions, including the analysis of climate, biodiversity, and ecosystem data. Day-to-day tasks include designing and implementing research projects, collecting and managing data, performing statistical and qualitative analyses, and preparing reports, publications, and presentations. The role involves collaborating with internal and external partners, contributing to grant proposals, and supporting the translation of research findings into practical tools and policy recommendations.

The Research

Fellow will also mentor students, participate in seminars and workshops,



and contribute to the Centre’s broader research agenda. This is a full-time, in office role based in Australia.

Qualifications

- Strong research skills, including study design, data collection, and analysis in environmental science, ecology, sustainability, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality academic outputs such as peer-reviewed publications, reports, and conference presentations.
- Experience using relevant analytical tools and methods (e.g., statistical software, GIS, modelling, or qualitative research techniques).
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to convey complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences and stakeholders.
- Proven capacity to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams and to manage projects, timelines, and research priorities.
- A doctoral degree (or near completion) in environmental science, ecology, conservation biology, sustainability, or a closely related discipline.
- Experience engaging with policy-makers, industry, or community partners on climate, biodiversity, or ecosystem issues is highly desirable.
- Commitment to evidence-based, nature-positive solutions and to fostering inclusive, respectful research environments.
