Who are we looking for? We are seeking a Research Data Specialist to join School of Chemistry and Physics, Faculty of Science. The Research Data Specialist will work within the Energy Storage Research Group team located at the Banyo Pilot Plant. The primary purpose of the Research Data Specialist position is to conduct and deliver research in the areas of data management, storage, analysis and presentation of battery fabrication and battery testing data. Working closely with academic staff members, research assistants, and a technical team, the Research Data Specialist will provide research data services to support the entire battery fabrication and battery testing workstream, from materials synthesis through to pilot-scale cell production.

The work will also involve research to optimize and integrate battery fabrication and battery testing equipment to support the researchers with generation, analysis and storage of local data.

What You Need To Succeed

- Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to a degree in a relevant field such as information technology, data analysis, chemistry, engineering or a relevant discipline with at subsequent relevant experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of developments and advancements in the area of research data management, both internationally and nationally.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the use of metadata and information management systems, for example, digital repositories and other information management systems.
- Highly developed interpersonal communication (verbal and written) skills in order to establish positive working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in planning, implementing and reporting of information, research or data management projects.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver high quality training and support to professional staff and researchers.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain an effective health and safety culture.
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity and Indigenous Australian engagement.
