About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable Retail and Kitchen Staff Members to join our team at Vellas Foodstore in Ooralea, QLD 4740. This is a casual position that offers flexibility and the opportunity to be part of a dynamic retail workplace. You will play an important role in delivering excellent customer service on the shop floor whilst also supporting our kitchen operations.

Whether you're assisting customers, restocking shelves, or preparing products in our kitchen area, you'll contribute directly to the smooth running of our food store and the satisfaction of our customers.

Key responsibilities

- Providing friendly and efficient customer service, assisting shoppers with product enquiries and purchases
- Operating the till and processing transactions accurately and promptly
- Restocking shelves and maintaining product displays to ensure the store is well-presented and fully stocked
- Supporting kitchen operations, including food preparation and packaging as required
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the retail and kitchen areas
- Following health and safety procedures and company policies at all times
- Assisting with stock management and inventory checks




- Contributing to a positive team atmosphere and supporting colleagues when needed

What we're looking for

- Previous retail or customer service experience is desirable but not essential; we welcome enthusiastic individuals willing to learn
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage positively with customers and colleagues
- A reliable, punctual and conscientious approach to work
- The ability to work as part of a team and independently
- Basic numeracy skills for till operation and stock management
- A willingness to be flexible and adaptable in a casual work environment
- Food handling or kitchen experience is advantageous but training will be provided
- Physical capability to perform tasks such as lifting and standing for extended periods
