Solmech is currently seeking experienced Electricians to join our team on utility-scale renewable energy projects across Australia in FIFO positions.

This role will involve carrying out electrical installation works across large-scale solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

We’re looking for electricians who have hands-on experience in the renewable energy sector and understand the fast-paced nature of major construction projects. You’ll work closely with supervisors, project teams and fellow tradespeople to deliver quality outcomes while maintaining Solmech’s strong focus on safety.

About the Role

Your responsibilities may include:

- Electrical installation works across utility-scale Solar and BESS projects

- Cable installation, pulling and containment

- Cable terminations and connections

- Testing and commissioning activities

- Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and specifications

- Completing work in accordance with project requirements and Australian electrical standards

- Working closely with supervisors and other trades to meet project targets

- Maintaining high standards of safety, quality and housekeeping onsite





To Be Successful You Will Have

Essential:

- Current NSW or SA Electrical Licence

- Current White Card

- Previous experience working on utility-scale renewable energy projects, including Solar and/or BESS

- Current Australian Driver Licence

- Current CPR/LVR

- Strong understanding of electrical standards and safe work practices

- Ability to work effectively within a team and meet project deadlines

- Robust communication skills and a proactive attitude

- Ability to work FIFO rosters and travel to projects across Australia

Desirable:

- Experience with cable installation and terminations

- Testing and commissioning experience

- High Voltage (HV) switching or electrical experience/qualifications

- Experience interpreting electrical drawings and specifications

- Previous experience on major utility-scale solar farms or BESS projects

- Additional high-risk or construction tickets
