Our client is a leader in the metal recycling industry, and we are currently seeking three experienced, multi-skilled Operators to join their team on an ongoing basis.

The Role

Working Monday to Friday, 6:30am–4:00pm, you will play an important role in the day-to-day operation of a busy metal recycling facility.

The successful candidates will be responsible for operating a range of mobile plant and equipment, processing scrap metal and supporting the safe and productive movement of materials throughout the site.

About You

We are looking for multi-skilled operators who bring practical operational experience and a strong commitment to safety.

Ideally, you will have:

- Current Forklift Licence

- Excavator ticket/licence

- Front-End Loader ticket/licence

- Proven experience operating excavators with a range of attachments, particularly grabs

- Previous experience in metal recycling or scrap processing — highly desirable

- An understanding of scrap metal processing equipment and technologies — highly desirable

- Experience in recycling, waste, industrial operations or a similar environment

- A strong safety focus and commitment to following site procedures

- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Candidates with previous metal recycling experience combined with excavator attachment experience will be particularly well suited to this opportunity.

More Than Just Civil Construction Experience

While excavator and plant operating experience is important,



our client is particularly interested in candidates who understand recycling, waste, industrial or similar operational environments.

This role is ideally suited to operators who are comfortable working around scrap metal, processing equipment and the day-to-day demands of a busy recycling operation, rather than candidates whose experience is solely within civil construction.

Shipping Operations & Overtime

Flexibility is an important part of this role.

Our client's bulk export shipping operations are a key part of the business and typically occur approximately once every three months.

During these periods, operators may be required to work additional hours, including:

- Weekend work

- 12-hour shifts, such as 6:00am–6:00pm or 7:00am–7:00pm

- Occasional movement between day and night shift

- Additional overtime as operational requirements dictate

We are therefore looking for candidates who are comfortable with this additional flexibility when required.
