THE ROLE

Bring Economics learning to life at Ipswich Girls’ Grammar School. We are seeking an enthusiastic Economics Teacher to join our Senior School in a full-time, permanent position commencing Term 1, 2027. Reporting to the Head of Humanities and Social Sciences, you will create engaging learning experiences that build students’ critical thinking, curiosity and understanding of economic concepts and contemporary issues. The ability to teach Legal Studies and/or Humanities would be highly regarded.

This permanent opportunity will see you deliver an inclusive and contemporary Economics program, use evidence and insight to shape your teaching, and work collaboratively with colleagues and families to support student learning and engagement across Humanities and Social Sciences.

Key responsibilities include:

- Plan and deliver purposeful,



engaging and differentiated Economics learning and assessment aligned with Queensland curriculum, QCAA Senior Economics requirements and School frameworks.
- Develop students’ economic literacy, analytical skills and understanding of local, national and global issues.
- Use assessment and feedback to monitor progress and support each learner’s growth.
- Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed learning setting where students feel safe, known and inspired to participate.
- Build trusted partnerships with students, families and colleagues and contribute enthusiastically to the wider life of the School.

ABOUT YOU

You are an engaging educator who brings energy, creativity and care to the teaching of Economics. You connect easily with students and colleagues and are excited by the opportunity to foster critical thinking, curiosity and informed understanding of contemporary issues. You’ll bring:

- Relevant qualifications and demonstrated capability to teach Economics in a secondary school setting, with the ability to teach Legal Studies and/or Humanities highly regarded.
- Strong knowledge of Queensland curriculum and QCAA Senior Economics requirements and the ability to create engaging, responsive and differentiated learning in Economics and related Australian Curriculum Humanities subjects.
- Contemporary teaching practice, sound judgement and effective classroom management.
- Confidence using digital technologies to enrich learning and strengthen communication.
- Warm, clear and highly effective communication and relationship-building skills.




- Eligibility for registration with the Queensland College of Teachers and unrestricted working rights in Australia.
