We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer - Mechanical to join a major infrastructure project in Perth's northern suburbs on an initial 4-month contract, with an immediate start available.

This role will suit a mechanically focused Project Engineer with strong technical procurement and package management experience, ideally gained within an EPC, Tier 1 contractor or major project environment.

The mechanical packages include pumps, dosing panels and centrifuges, with the designs already completed. The focus of the role is therefore less about construction delivery and commissioning, and more around procurement, supplier and subcontractor coordination, technical documentation and ensuring packages are delivered, tested and ready for installation.

The Role

- Manage the procurement and delivery of mechanical equipment packages, including pumps, dosing panels and centrifuges.
- Coordinate closely with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure packages are manufactured, tested and delivered in line with the project programme.
- Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, datasheets and other engineering documentation.
- Monitor procurement schedules, expediting activities and package progress to identify and resolve potential delays.
- Coordinate supplier documentation, technical queries, RFIs and design-related interfaces.
- Work with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure equipment is tested, compliant and ready for installation.
- Coordinate interfaces between engineering, procurement, suppliers and the installation team.
- Track package status, delivery requirements and outstanding documentation through to site readiness.




- Support final testing and verification activities to ensure equipment is ready for installation and project requirements have been met.
- Maintain strong communication with internal stakeholders, suppliers and subcontractors throughout the package lifecycle.

About You
- Degree-qualified Mechanical Engineer or relevant engineering qualification.
- Proven experience as a Project Engineer / Senior Project Engineer within an EPC, Tier 1 contractor or major project environment.
- Solid experience managing mechanical equipment procurement and package delivery.
- Excellent ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and engineering documentation.
- Experience coordinating equipment suppliers, subcontractors and multiple project interfaces.
- Strong understanding of procurement processes, expediting, supplier documentation and package schedules.
- Experience with mechanical equipment such as pumps, centrifuges, dosing systems or similar process equipment would be highly regarded.
- Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to drive packages through to delivery and readiness.
- Perth-based and residing in the northern suburbs or within a reasonable commute of the project.
- Available for an immediate start.

This role is not primarily focused on construction supervision or commissioning. Candidates with a strong technical procurement and equipment package background will be of particular interest.
