We are seeking a qualified and experienced Accountant to join our Corporate & Finance team on a 12 month contract in a part-time job share arrangement, working 2 days per week. This is an excellent prospect to contribute your expertise in financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, and financial analysis while enjoying the flexibility of a reduced work schedule.

About the Role

Reporting to the Manager Finance, you will play a key role in supporting Busselton Water's financial management and statutory compliance obligations. Working closely with the existing finance team, you will assist with the preparation of financial reports, management accounting activities, budgeting processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities to be shared across the Role

- Preparing monthly financial reports and management information.

- Assisting with annual financial statements and audit requirements.

- Preparing and lodging statutory returns, including payroll tax and NTER obligations.

- Managing investment portfolio reporting and cash flow requirements.

- Coordinating asset register and lease accounting activities.

- Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.





- Supporting and providing guidance to the Finance Assistant.

- Contributing to continuous improvement of financial systems and processes.

About you

- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

- Demonstrated experience in financial accounting, financial reporting, and statutory compliance.

- Sound knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and taxation requirements, including GST, FBT, payroll tax, and NTER.

- Experience with month-end processes, reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries.

- Strong financial analysis and reporting skills.

- Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities.

- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working within a team environment.

- Professional membership with CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, IPA, or an equivalent professional body will be highly regarded.

Please note: As part of this job share arrangement, the successful candidate may be required to provide additional coverage during periods of annual leave or extended absences. This may include working up to five days per week for short periods, offering an excellent opportunity to further contribute to the organisation and gain broader exposure to the role.
