A highly regarded family-owned cattle enterprise is seeking experienced Station Hands to join their operation, predominantly based in the Northern Territory with work also undertaken on a western Queensland property as required. The business runs cattle across extensive breeding and backgrounding country and is recognised for its practical, low-stress stock handling approach and strong team culture.

Located within some of Australia's most iconic pastoral regions, this role offers the opportunity to work across vast cattle country while enjoying the camaraderie of a younger workforce. During the busy season, the station operates with a sizeable team including station hands, contractors, homestead staff and a station cook, creating a productive and social working environment in a truly unique part of Australia.

Reporting to Station Management,



this role will suit experienced Station Hands who are confident working on large-scale cattle properties, capable of operating independently or within a team, and who take pride in maintaining equipment, infrastructure and livestock standards. This role is due to commence for mustering season approximately 1st March 2027.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

- Undertake mustering operations using two-wheel motorbikes and buggies across large-scale cattle country, ensuring livestock are handled safely and in accordance with low-stress stock handling principles.
- Assist with all aspects of cattle processing including weaning, yard work, animal husbandry activities, stock treatments, drafting and the accurate recording of livestock numbers, weights and movements.
- Conduct routine bore runs and water infrastructure inspections, including monitoring and maintaining poly and solar watering systems to support livestock operations.
- Complete fencing installations, fencing repairs and occasional yard construction projects while contributing to the ongoing maintenance and presentation of station infrastructure.
- Perform basic welding, fabrication, machinery operation and general station maintenance duties while identifying issues early and assisting with practical solutions.

Selection Criteria:





- Demonstrated experience of at least three years working on large-scale cattle stations, with proven livestock handling skills and a sound understanding of breeding and backgrounding operations.
- Current Open Manual Driver's Licence, confidence driving in remote Northern Territory conditions and the ability to safely operate motorbikes, buggies and station machinery.
- Strong commitment to low-stress stock handling practices, workplace safety and maintaining high standards of livestock welfare across all cattle operations.
- Practical mechanical aptitude, basic machinery operation skills and the ability to undertake minor repairs, maintenance and welding tasks when required.
- Reliable, self-motivated and physically fit individual who presents well, works effectively both independently and within a team, and is willing to undertake a National Police Check.

Additional Particulars:

- Single accommodation provided with air-conditioning, Starlink internet access and all meals supplied by the station cook.
- Day rate negotiable and will be based on experience, skills and overall suitability for the position.
