About the role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join the More Life Care team, providing essential care and assistance to people in the southern suburbs of Adelaide, spanning the Marion to Aberfoyle Park area. This is a casual position offering flexibility whilst making a genuine difference in the lives of individuals requiring aged and disability support services. You will work within our community-based model, visiting clients in their homes and supporting them with daily living activities, personal care, and community engagement. This role is crucial to our mission of enabling people to live independently and maintain their quality of life within their own communities.

What you'll be doing

- Providing direct personal care and support to clients with aged and disability needs, including assistance with personal hygiene, grooming, dressing and toileting

- Supporting clients with meal preparation, shopping, and household tasks to help maintain their independence and wellbeing

- Assisting with mobility support (getting in and out of bed with a hoist) and encouraging participation in community activities and social engagement

- Accompanying clients to medical appointments, social outings and community events

- Building meaningful relationships with clients by providing compassionate, respectful and person-centred support

- Communicating effectively with clients, their families, and the wider care team to ensure coordinated, quality support

- Maintaining accurate and timely records of care provided and any observations relevant to client wellbeing

- Adhering to health, safety, and safeguarding protocols, including infection control and risk management procedures





- Responding flexibly to client needs and adjusting support plans as required

What we're looking for

- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable people and commitment to improving their quality of life

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse clients

- Reliability and punctuality, with flexibility to work across casual shifts as rostered

- Physical capability to provide personal care and mobility assistance safely and with dignity

- Experience in aged care, disability support, or social care environments (preferred but not essential)

- Current First Aid Certificate and CPR qualification (or willingness to obtain these)

- Current Working with Children Check and Working with Vulnerable People Screening clearances (or eligibility to obtain)

- A valid Australian driver's licence and reliable access to transport to travel between client locations

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect client privacy at all times

- Willingness to undertake training on safeguarding, manual handling, and support planning relevant to the role

- Maturity, emotional resilience and the ability to respond sensitively to challenging situations
