About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive National Safety & Compliance Manager to lead and manage regulatory compliance across our national operations. This critical role ensures the business meets its compliance obligations under OH&S;, Heavy Vehicle National Law and other associated regulations.

You will parter with management and work collaboratively alongside internal and external stakeholders to build a strong culture of compliance, safety and accountability.

This role demands a comprehensive understanding of Chain of Responsibility, NHVR and Occupational Health and Safety.

Remuneration package will be negotiated based on experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance & Governance:

- Monitor, manage and report on legislative and regulatory developments.

- Provide expert advice and guidance to management on compliance obligations.

- Develop, implement and maintain policies and procedures.

- Coordinate and lead NHVR audits.

- Manage NHVAS compliance, including Notice to Produce and NHVR Portal maintenance.

- Customer and supplier compliance and assurance.

Safety, Risk & Auditing:

- Conduct compliance risk assessments, safety audits and hazard management activities.

- Coordinate and verify compliance activities across NHVR, HACCP and PBS frameworks.

- Lead driver and subcontractor compliance checks and corrective action processes.

Incident Reporting & Claims Management:

- Oversee incident reporting and corrective actions.

- Lead incident investigations in collaboration with key stakeholders.

- Maintain incident register.





- Work closely with insurance representatives and management on active and potential claims.

- Support claims processing through documentation coordination and liaison with insurance and legal representatives.

Fatigue & Mass Management:

- Partner with HR to monitor and manage Mass Management and Basic Fatigue Management (BFM) inductions, onboarding and maintenance.

The Ideal Candidate is a detail-oriented compliance professional with strong working knowledge of heavy vehicle legislation and safety frameworks. You are confident leading audits, investigations and regulatory interactions, and you thrive in a role that requires structure, accountability and continuous improvement.

You Will Bring:

- Experience in the transport and logistics industry.

- Robust knowledge of NHVR, CoR, Dangerous Goods and Fatigue Management.

- Strong analytical and documentation skills.

- High attention to detail.

- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

- The ability to influence and drive compliance culture across diverse teams.
