About the Role
Are you a practical, people-focused professional who enjoys being close to the action? This is a great opportunity for a hands on People & Culture Business Partner, based in Melbourne who knows how to build trust, communicate clearly and support leaders through the everyday people moments that keep an operational business running well.

At Daifuku Oceania, our People & Culture team plays an important role in creating a workplace where people feel supported, respected and able to do their best work. We are looking for someone who brings sound judgement, warmth, credibility and a genuine interest in people — someone who can have the tricky conversations when needed, while still being approachable, sensible and easy to work with.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Build trusted relationships with leaders, employees and operational teams across Australia.
- Provide practical day-to-day advice across employee relations, performance, workforce planning, policy interpretation and people processes.
- Support leaders and employees in unionised environments, including matters involving enterprise agreements, industry awards and employment obligations.
- Coach managers with clear, balanced and commercially sensible guidance that helps them lead their teams with confidence.
- Contribute to people initiatives that improve employee experience, team connection, culture, onboarding, engagement and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with a collaborative People & Culture team that values teamwork, trust, humour and getting things done together.

About You




You are likely at the stage in your career where you have built strong foundations and are ready to be trusted as a true business partner. You enjoy variety, you are calm under pressure, and you know how to tailor your style depending on whether you are supporting a frontline employee, site leader, manager or senior stakeholder.

Most importantly, you bring a human approach. You are sensible, down-to-earth and easy to communicate with. You enjoy being part of a team, you build strong working relationships, and you understand that effective partnering is as much about trust and connection as it is about process and compliance.

What You’ll Bring

- Strong Australian workplace experience, with proven People & Culture business partnering capability.
- Experience supporting a unionised workforce and working with Australian industry awards (essential).
- Sound knowledge of employment relations, workplace obligations and practical HR processes (essential).
- The ability to build credibility quickly with operational leaders and frontline teams.
- A clear, friendly and professional communication style that helps people feel heard and supported.
- A team-focused mindset, with a willingness to contribute, share ideas and have some fun along the way.

Preferred Experience

- Experience in operations, manufacturing, logistics, aviation,



infrastructure or similar industrial environments.
- Exposure to geographically dispersed, site-based or shift-based workforces.
- Comfort working in a practical, quick-paced environment where no two days look the same.
