About the position

As a Dental Officer / Senior Dental Officer your primary objective will be to provide quality oral health clinical services in accordance with Oral Health Services agreed policies, protocols and procedures.

This position is required to provide high quality comprehensive clinical services to eligible client groups both adults and children in urban, rural and remote areas and to maintain accurate and complete electronic client records. Along with the ability to develop and apply interpersonal skills to work effectively with all members of the oral health team and develop an awareness of Aboriginal culture and other diverse community groups. Also, to continuously develop and maintain a high level of clinical knowledge, skills and competence in acute and primary oral health care.

The position will also be required to develop knowledge of a primary health care approach to oral health care, including engagement of clients in treatment planning and the promotion of effective self-care. Along with actively participating in professional development activities and Continuous Quality Improvements (CQI) programs. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality,



safe services and workplaces and to foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.

Oral Health Service in Central Australia (OHSCA) provides a range of oral health services, community education programs and targeted services to clients with chronic diseases and special needs. OHSCA is accredited with the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards and collaborates with the Menzies School of Health Research and the Australian Research Centre for Population Oral Health in multi-centre research programs.
