Inventory Control Officer
Location: Laverton North, VIC
About the Role
We are looking for a reliable, organised and detail-oriented Inventory Control Officer to join our warehouse team in Laverton North.
This role is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, monitoring stock movements, managing samples and clearance stock, and supporting the warehouse team with inventory-related administration.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working between the warehouse floor and computer-based inventory systems, with strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to resolving stock discrepancies.
This position involves working in temperature-controlled warehouse areas, including chilled and freezer rooms where raw meat products such as chicken, beef, pork and lamb are stored and handled. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in cold conditions and moving regularly between warehouse and office environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory records and stock locations.
- Conduct daily cycle counts and assist with regular stocktakes.
- Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies.
- Record and monitor stock movements between locations.
- Monitor stock levels and identify inventory issues.
- Manage sample stock, including recording, tracking and maintaining sample movements.
- Manage clearance stock, ensuring items are correctly identified, recorded and monitored.
- Maintain accurate records for disposals, stock adjustments and other inventory transactions.
- Monitor stock dates, including expiry and use-by dates, and identify stock requiring further action.
- Ensure FIFO procedures are followed across warehouse locations.
- Prepare and maintain inventory reports using Excel and warehouse systems.
- Maintain accurate warehouse paperwork and ensure inventory documentation can be easily traced.
- Work closely with warehouse staff and management to improve inventory accuracy and warehouse processes.
- Assist with inventory-related projects and process improvements.
- Regularly work across ambient, chilled and freezer areas where raw meat products are stored, as required
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, workplace health and safety procedures.
About You
- Previous experience in Inventory Control, Stock Control or Warehouse Administration.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- Positive understanding of inventory management and stock movements.
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with spreadsheets and reports.
- Experience with an ERP or inventory management system is highly desirable.
- Pronto experience is an advantage.
- Able to work independently and take ownership of inventory accuracy.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with warehouse staff.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment that includes chilled and freezer rooms and the storage and handling of raw meat products.
· Comfortable working in refrigerated and freezer areas for extended periods, as required.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
- Full working rights in Australia.
- Available to work a consistent full-time roster.
