We are seeking a dynamic and relationalDeputy Head of Primaryto join our Primary leadership team from1 January ****.
Working alongside the Head of Primary and Primary Head of Teaching and Learning, you will play a key role in leading the day-to-day operations of the Primary School, supporting staff, partnering with families, and championing student wellbeing and behaviour.
This is a significant leadership chance for an authentic and servant-hearted Christian educator who can inspire others, build high-performing teams and contribute to high-quality educational outcomes where students and staff thrive.
Your Role
Support the Head of Primary in providing strategic and operational leadership across the Primary School.
Deputise for the Head of Primary when required.
Provide leadership of student wellbeing, pastoral care, behaviour and engagement.
Use student wellbeing data to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
Support Team Coordinators in developing positive classroom cultures and high behavioural expectations.
Foster a collaborative, positive and high-performing culture among staff.




Mentor and support staff, promoting professional excellence, accountability and high expectations.
Assist with recruitment, staffing processes, performance reviews and professional development.
Oversee day-to-day Primary School operations, including timetables, supervision rosters, emergency procedures and relief staffing.
Build strong and positive partnerships with students, parents and staff.
Facilitate Prep enrolment interviews and support Ready, Set, Prep and Step-up Day orientation programs.
Maintain a visible leadership presence across the Primary School and represent the College at key events.
Work collaboratively across the College to strengthen alignment between Primary, Secondary and Kindergarten.
Promote and uphold child protection, child safe standards, risk management and College policies.
Contribute to the broader life and co-curricular program of the College.
Model and promote a Christ-centred approach to leadership, relationships and decision-making.
About You
You are an experienced educational leader who is passionate about student wellbeing, staff development and creating a thriving school community.
You will bring:
A committed and active Christian faith, demonstrated through personal testimony and regular involvement in a church.




Demonstrated experience as an educational leader within a Primary School context.
A Bachelor of Education or equivalent teaching qualification.
Current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with students, staff and families.
An authentic, relational and servant-hearted leadership style.
A strong track record in promoting positive student behaviour, engagement and wellbeing.
The ability to lead and mentor staff through a collaborative and empowering approach.
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
Experience in timetabling, scheduling, event coordination and operational planning.
The ability to respond to complex situations with discretion, sound judgement and care.
A commitment to professional learning, reflective practice and ongoing educational leadership.
A willingness to actively contribute to the broader life of the College.
Experience in a Christian or Independent school environment is desirable, but not essential.
A Master of Education or another mission-aligned qualification is also desirable.
