About the Role n
MSS Security is seeking professional, reliable and customer-focused Terminal Security Officers to join our team at Hobart International Airport. This role provides a visible security presence throughout the airport terminal and surrounding precinct, helping maintain a safe, secure and welcoming environment for passengers, staff and visitors.

Duties include:
n
n
Conduct security patrols of the terminal, forecourt, aprons, airport roads and car parks.
n
Monitor and report security, safety and operational concerns.
n
Respond promptly and professionally to security incidents.
n
Apply effective verbal de-escalation and conflict resolution techniques when responding to challenging or escalating behaviours.
n
Engage respectfully with passengers experiencing distress and provide first aid when required.
n
Maintain accurate security logs, patrol records and incident reports.
n
Provide a professional and customer-focused security presence throughout the airport.
n
n
Ideal candidates will have:
n
n
Confidence applying de-escalation techniques and managing challenging behaviour without unnecessarily escalating a situation.
n
Patience,



empathy and the ability to communicate respectfully with vulnerable or distressed people.
n
Strong communication and customer service skills.
n
A professional presentation and reliable approach to work.
n
Previous experience in security, aviation, transport, mental health support or another public-facing operational workplace will be highly regarded.
n
Flexibility to work across a variety of shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
n
n
Requirements:
n
n
Full Australian working rights.
n
A current Tasmanian Security Agent Licence.
n
A current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
n
Ability to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
n
Ability to undergo a medical assessment, including drug and alcohol testing.
n
n
