Patient Administration Officer
Patient Administration Officer Multiple opportunities available across permanent full-time, permanent part-time and casual appointments.

Macquarie University Health is seeking service-oriented Patient Admissions Officers to join the Patient Services team at Macquarie University Hospital, located on the Wallumattagal Campus in North Ryde.
With permanent full-time, permanent part-time and casual opportunities available, this is a genuine prospect for dedicated and personable administrators to play a vital role in shaping the patient experience from the very first point of contact.
Key Responsibilities
Managing patient bookings, pre-admission processes and appointment coordination.
Admitting patients to the hospital and completing all required admission documentation.
Performing Private Health Fund eligibility checks and confirming patient details.
Providing front desk reception and maintaining the hospital main switchboard, responding to enquiries in person and over the phone.
Managing competing priorities in a fast-paced admissions environment while maintaining accuracy in line with legislative and organisational requirements.
Identifying and escalating issues or discrepancies promptly, and contributing to a positive, professional and team-focused work environment.
Selection Criteria
Demonstrated experience in a reception and/or administrative role, preferably within a healthcare or private hospital environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills,
with the ability to build rapport and demonstrate empathy with patients.
A high level of customer service and professionalism, including the ability to remain calm and solutions-focused under pressure.
Experience performing Private Health Fund eligibility checks and interpreting outcomes, including experience with workers' compensation (WorkCover) and third-party payers.
Competency in health-related software systems (experience with TrakCare desirable).
Excellent organisational skills, time management and attention to detail when handling personal, medical and financial data, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
